Project

The project builds on the results achieved from 2017-2018 as a "flagship project". The National Consultation on Nursing Education (LOOV), consisting of 17 hbo institutes, set up the Together Nursing project in 2018. Fifteen of these universities are working together to make Open Educational Resources (OER) available for topics within the bachelor of nursing program.

In the flagship project, the following two objectives were achieved over a period of 13 months:

  1. Unlocking and developing educational resources for a number of topics (to be determined) for the Bachelor of Nursing program and making them available under an open license.
  2. To create an active community of educators who make use of the developed educational resources and exchange experiences about them, thus contributing to the maintenance and expansion of the collection of educational resources (sustainability).

The together nursing project started in May 2018 and ran for 2.5 years. This project involved working on the following ambitions:

  • Increase quality of education through availability of higher quality educational resources, preferably as efficiently as possible;
  • Further develop and use a previously established platform (during the flagship project by 5 universities) for open learning materials with all 17 LOOV universities (reuse and share educational resources);
  • Develop new educational resources together and share them under an open license;
  • Creating an active professional community. This is a requirement for keeping the platform up to date and "alive";
  • Embedding the project in existing professional organizations and existing conferences;
  • Conduct research into the effects of the professional community on open sharing and reuse of learning materials.
