Co-develop

Working together on new educational resources. After an inventory of the needs for new educational resources, themes were chosen for which new educational resources were desirable. These were developed by educators from several institutes. A total of 57 new educational resources were developed. These are all findable on Wikiwijs.

Experience 'sharing educational resources in Together'

Placing GGZ cases in 'Together

As nursing educators with a background in the GGZ we, Floor Abbema (HU) and Rob Scheurink (Saxion), are regularly approached to do 'something' with (deviant) behaviour, aggression, communication, etcetera within education. Often widely used, from year 1 to 4, minors or as guest speaker at theme days and the like. However, the request to provide casuistry for a national forum (LOOV), the project Together, was new. My (and later on Floor's) first reflex was ... "I'd rather not, I already have enough to do". However, after the importance of the project, its purpose and goal had been explained, I agreed and was brought into contact with my counterpart at the HU, Floor van Abbema. A timeline and action plan were quickly drawn up but it was still not clear how much time it would take, but fortunately both of us had the motto; he who says 'A' ....

- Upon request we are happy to share our experience -

For the project Together, educators are asked to share suitable educational resources with colleagues from all high schools in the Netherlands. Think of case studies, lesson plans, presentations, et cetera. This may seem like a lot of work, but our experience is that it is not that hard. To make others enthusiastic, we would like to share our experience and the effort it has cost us.

What did we do?

We both went through the curricula of the HU and Saxion University of Applied Sciences for any useful resources. We found both the old curriculum and the BN2020 curriculum and, as it turned out, there was more than enough resources to screen for suitability for publication in 'Project Together'. So much so that even at that stage it was no longer necessary to think up the resource yourself.

Floor went to screen the cases of Saxion and I, vice versa, those of the HU. Floor, in particular, then made the cases suitable in terms of generalization and anonymization, and in mid-April we delivered the resource.

It is, of course, someone else's resource that we are now ostensibly going to show off so we want to emphasize above all that placing resources does not mean that everything has to be thought up again, on the contrary, the statement "better to steal well (with permission) than to invent badly" is very appropriate here. And what's more, the amount of effort it took us wasn't too bad after all. Moreover, it feels good to have provided resources that is of use to others who are facing the same good (mental) health case.

We would recommend it to anyone.
