Process

As an educator, you're may be thinking, "I do have a great lesson I'd like to share! But how does it work?"

With the project group, we developed a flowchart that depicts an entire process: from your own educational resources to open educational resources on Wikiwijs.

We checked the quality in two steps.

  1. First, the educator compares his or her own lesson with the quality model and checks whether it is satisfactory. If the educator is satisfied, he or she places the resource, including some of the content-related data necessary for metadata in Wikiwijs, in a digital mailbox (for example a folder on Dropbox or a network drive within the institution). A template is available for the content data (see below at "More information")
  2. An Information specialist in the Library also looks at the template with his/her expertise on e.g. copyright.

Once everything is agreed, the Library staff member places the resources on Wikiwijs, including adding the metadata.

When the educational resources are visible and publicly available on Wikiwijs, an inspector checks whether the Seal of Approval can be issued.

In addition to checking the quality of the educational resources, the right metadata is essential for good findability. A digital metadata form has therefore been developed.
